Is that what Fischer Sealent is? (not sure if I've spelt that correctly?) Where they coat the back teeth to prevent cavities? If not, it sounds quite like that.
Are you in an area with low flouride in the water?

are you in scotland? Childsmile seems to do fluoride painting of teeth although dd and ds havent been offered it. We are in north lanarkshire

It sound to me like the flouride varnish which is like thick toothpaste applied to children's teeth by a dentist to help prevent tooth decay. It's a good idea especially if you don't have fluoridated water.

Luciemule - fissure sealants are a more permanent thing. They set hard on the teeth to fill the fissures to help prevent decay.

Both are a good idea in children at risk of decay.

Yes Seona - Grampian, and it's through Childsmile. Don't know about fluoride levels - have signed consent as can't find any dangers online. Thanks for replies!
