Do spots in throat always mean an infection and need antibiotic?

DD1 is 3, this morning she said there was something in her mouth and I had a look. She has 2 or 3 yellowy white spots on her throat.

No temperature, in good form, not complaining of sore throat and no history of tonsilitis.

Does she need to see the GP or could I wait a bit and see?

She has asthma and suffers from chest infection so has taken lots of antibiotics in her life. I would prefer to avoid it if not absolutely necessary.

Thanks

Anyone?

Trying to decide if I should make an appointment for the GP tomorrow.

She still seems fine and has no temp.

Thanks

could be thrush.

try your pharmacist tomorrow and they'll have a look.

Took my 1yr old to the Dr today - he had a few White spots on gums/ throat and blisters in his mouth - spotted them at the weekend. He's not slept well since Weds ( and neither have I), not eating much and a real grump. Also teething so his mouth must be agony.

Apparently it's viral. It will go in a few days. Told to dose with paracetamol.

I has spots in my throat all weekend and felt lousy. Started feeling better after about 48 hrs and am fine now. Not a doc or antibiotic in sight.
If she's not unwell why don't you wait and see. Sometimes we can shake things off, sometimes the infection is more severe/gets a hold and we need extra help.
