What's likely to happen at a SALT assesment with a relatively young baby?

We've just got an appointment letter for ds2 for next week, he's only 11 months though so what exactly can i expect?

He's been referred by the public health nurse as he has tongue tie which caused a lot of issues with feeding, both liquid and solids up until 8/9 months. He's managing solids fairly well, if a bit messily, now but still can't take liquids from anywhere other than the breast (pain in the bum as i can't leave him for longer than a couple of hours)

the salt should be able to see how bad/good your ds is by watching him play.they usually have toys.
they will be looking for any sounds he makes (of course) but also how his mouth, lips, tongue, jaw & facial muscles move as well.
have you been asked to bring along juice/milk/boiled cooled water in a bottle/cup? . might be an idea to have one/some anyway, then the salt can see the problem with drinking.
try not too worry too much - most babies with tongue-tie end up ok in the end.
Has your ds had an op on his tongue tie?

no op.... consultant not interested as it's not completely tied.... apparently in our hospital if it's got any mobility at all it's not tongue tie despite the fact that at that stage he couldn't manage solids at all and was still drooling through three changes of top a day.

thanks for the tip about the drink... hadn't even occured to me but will bring one now to show her
