Urgent question re Paracetamol in France

chaosisawayoflife · 25/01/2010 21:22

I've got an unexpected trip to Paris tomorrow and want to stock up on paracetamol suppositories for dd while I'm there since our GP won't prescribe them due to cost. Does anyone know what brand names I should be looking for? Are they over the counter or on shelves? Chemists or supermarkets? I have very basic French so not confident about asking!

Gosh, I don't know - I give DD Doliprane children's syrup. If you really want to give your child suppositories just ask at the counter for "suppositoires de paracétamol pour enfants"

We had Acetalgine in CH but not sure if same available in France. There was a antiinflammatory one too (possibly ibruprofen based)

Alvedon 120mg,250,500mg.
You can actually but them in this country from the chemist

they are also called doliprane suppositories i believe...depends where they have got them from

Inflamac was the other one.

Over the counter in chemists.
Probably "doliprane en suppositoire" is the most common.

I stock up on Calpol when I am in the UK, as I can't see the point in suppositories and I find the quantities of gooey Doliprane syrup you have to administer are chokingly huge for a 4yr old.
Maybe we could set up an international exchange in painkillers?
