Children and Chiropractice

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience of children and chiropractice? Long story, but I've just found out that estranged husband has being taking DS to a paediatric chiropractice. I know grown up friends who go, due to bad backs etc and have expressed some surprise that it's being used on a child.
DS is v. slightly pidgeon toed, but prior to EH walking out, we'd agreed it wasn't a problem. No pain, no tripping over feet, able to run fast and able to walk 9 miles plus so no worries. As far as I am aware no doctor has been consulted and I'm not sure why it has suddenly become a problem.

What would the treatment involve and is it as 'hands on' as it is for adults? I would ask the practitioner themselves, but that useful information is still not forthcoming.

Yes, there is whole other debate on why I didn't know about this sooner, (it's been going on for months, apparently) but at the moment I'd just like to know what might be occuring.

Thanks

I took both my babies to a McTimoney Chiropractor and the lady really helped both my children to sleep better and be happier.

I was skeptic, but so many of my close friends had taken their babies to the same person I went just to see. She was very gentle with them and it made all the difference. She also did the cranium as well as the body.

But there are a lot of different types of chiropractors. Maybe you should ask him for some more information and a brochure etc and look it up on the internet etc. Do your home work, just in case?

Dd went to one for a while with her bad joints. She did a bit of gentle manhandling, but also things like giving her exercises and advice. We stopped in the end because it got too expensive.

I take both Dds to a wonderful woman who specialises in children and has worked wonders for them both. Highly recommend. Dd1 has problems with balance & turning in on her ankle et al and it's been fantastic. She loves going & really looks forward to her appointments! Our chiropractor does cranial therpy as well, though I don't know that this is general.
