Children and Chiropractice

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience of children and chiropractice? Long story, but I've just found out that estranged husband has being taking DS to a paediatric chiropractice. I know grown up friends who go, due to bad backs etc and have expressed some surprise that it's being used on a child.
DS is v. slightly pidgeon toed, but prior to EH walking out, we'd agreed it wasn't a problem. No pain, no tripping over feet, able to run fast and able to walk 9 miles plus so no worries. As far as I am aware no doctor has been consulted and I'm not sure why it has suddenly become a problem.

What would the treatment involve and is it as 'hands on' as it is for adults? I would ask the practitioner themselves, but that useful information is still not forthcoming.

Yes, there is whole other debate on why I didn't know about this sooner, (it's been going on for months, apparently) but at the moment I'd just like to know what might be occuring.

Thanks

No experience myslef, but would ring round a few other chiropractors in your area to see how they might treat a child of that age for that same problem. I am not at all convinced about children having such treatment, having had about 15 years of such treatment myself with very short term results. sorry can't be more help. I know of babies having such treatment to alleiviate croup and possible crying from headaches after birth, but it is far more subtle treatment, and when I think of the name I will message it!
