V sore weeping nappy rash

Ds 15mo, teething molars so assume this is what's caused it. Using thin layer of sudocrem all over but there's a small patch where a layer of skin has come off and it's weeping - should I not put cream on that bit?

Doing 15-30mins of nappy-off time with each change, hoping to dry it out.

Anything else I can get from the pharmacy?

Kamillosan is brilliant, and actually heals rather than just create a barrier. It works pretty quickly and isn't full of nasties.

A few drops of betadine then let it dry out before applying sudocream?

I found sudocrem made ds worse but metanium was excellent for him

Betadine drops - is that directly on the skin?

Ask you pharmacist about betadine, may suggest diluting in a bit of water and gently applying with a cotton ball.

Don't use wipes, use cotton wool and water, leave to air, get some canesten (may have thrush) and lastly Weleda(sp)....this is the best stuff ever.

I wondered about thrush as I had it a few weeks ago and wondered if I'd caught it from him or the other ay round. Thanks all.

well if it's thrush won't clear without treatment which may also include a steroid cream to reduce inflammation.
Better see your health visitor/GP if he is in pain.

Nappy off all day, if you can bear the puddles/poops etc. This is the only way IMO to clear it quickly, just use medicated cream when nappy is on. Metanium is good in a very thin layer.
