Chicken Pox & spots in the nether regions

My poor 4 1/2 year old is off with chicken pox. She seems to be coping ok(ish) so long as I keep up with the calpol & calamine lotion.

THe only thing is she has a few spots in her nether regions 1 on her front bit, 1 inside her labia (sp?) and one near her perenium. They look incredibley sore and she cries whenever she needs a wee. She now keeps going to the toilet saying she needs a poo, but never does anything and she says it hurts too much. The thing is that I am worried about is her hanging on to it and causing more problems! She had a poo yesterday, so she is not constipated just yet at least!

She says her tummy hurts but i am wondering if her glands her up, as the pain is in the middle.

I am making sure she has a bit of dried fruit to keep everything soft but running out of ideas on how to convience her thats its ok to have a poo.

Is there anything i can put on these spots to help her? i am putting sudacrem on, but doesnt seem to ease the pain.

I am sorry but i dont think any of those calomine lotions or creams are good. I bought a natural Chicken Pox Kit online (think it was called 'CPX Kit') with a natural product called Colloidal Silver in it - it was amazing you can spray it anywhere on the body it is just like water and it has antiviral properties. You can definaltey spray it on the genital area as you can use it for nappy rash etc. My daughters chickenpox cleared in 5 days! Hope that helps.

Interesting first post Lucy. Your product is it?

bidibidi · 08/01/2010 12:17

How do you define a 'natural product' anyway? How to make your own colloidal silver (silver particles in a suspension), using rods of pure silver. Rods of pure silver aren't actually naturally occurring in 'Nature', nor is the suspension, really.

Ahem. Please could anyone tell me how much bicarb to add to the bathwater? I think I will pass on any remedies I can't get free on the NHS (tight-arse emoticon)

I would recomend puriton too ... thank you so much for that suggestion! Its been a god send.

I think (hope) that the spots are now as bad as the are going to get. Her back, neck, head and behind the ears are covered (and i mean convered!). She has a fresh outbreak today on her face, but i am praying they dont get too bad.

She refuses me to put any lotion on at all. She just gets all stressy and cries, so I give up on that one. I managed to convience her for me to put the calamine cream on. Made it a game in the end and we tried counting them all. I got to 170odd and lost count, which she thought was hilarious!!!

The puriton has helped alot with the itch i think, plus they dont seem to be as big and swollen as before. The big spot in her nether regions has clouded over now, so should scab over soon!

Thanks, DD is feeling a lot more comfortable. I don't think she has had as many as 170 spots. Maybe 100 max!

Our 2 year old got chicken pox too.

A friend told us about an amazing cream called virasoothe specifically for chicken pox itching for kids. We bought in on amazon.co.uk and had it delivered.

Amazing!!! A completely clear substance - we'd put it on and there would be NO itching for about 7 hours. It would wear off, she'd itch and we'd apply it again.

We also used Colloidal Silver - we bought a while ago a colloidal silver generator over amazon as well and use it whenever anyone in the family comes down with something.

She had the chicken pox for a total of 7 days. No irritation - it almost seemed as if though there was nothing wrong with her other than the spots she had.

And of course Calpol can't ever be forgotten... :-)

So for us that was a pretty easy journey.

Funny thing is now - 2 weeks later - I've been diagnosed with chicken pox as well. GREAT!!! (that is very tongue in cheek!!!) So I'll follow the same regimen (but paracetamol instead of Calpol) and hopefully I get the same results too... :-)

Hi
I'd definately recommend Colloidal silver spray too-it's great! It's anti-viral anti-bacterial and the spray means you don't have to touch the skin!Brilliant!
I got mine from an online company called Higher Nature but good Health shops stock it too!! xxx
