My dd(18 mth) is ill.It started 4 days ago, very early in the morning she vomited but once only.Ever since she has runny poos, very nasty smelling and i suppose it's a kind of bug/virus but my biggest worry is she's eating close to nothing and i already can SEE she lost some weight!!!she's only been very miserable and ill first 2 days and i thought that was it...Today she's been playing happily and seems fine, but poos still v runny and smelly and eating very little, refusing milk at bedtime...
Because i never experienced this before can anyone tell me how long can it go on??would u take her to GP??any advice, please

Sorry to hear your dd is poorly I know how you feel my ds had a upset tummy wednesday took about 3/4 days before he ate, he also has lost a lot of weight.
The doctor said to me not to worry about them not eating but it is very important they dont get dehydrated, if your dd is not drinking milk before bed thats not to bad however you will need to get some other fluid ie juice or water into her and make a appointment with the doctor just to get her checked out.
Hope she gets better soon xx.

As long as she is drinking then normally doctors are happy, however, if she has really smelly poo then it could be a nasty bug and it is better to get it checked. In the meantime keep her hydrated and leave light snacks about for her to pick at should she feel the need. Milk is not a very good drink at this point as dairy tends to go straight through them when they have stomach bugs. Try fruit ice lollies as they have loads of liquid in them and gives them a sugar boost.

Luckily children tend to make up for any weight loss very quickly once recovered!

Thanks for your reply starstripe, was wandering if anyone was around with similar problem..
I make sure she has a drink to grab whenever she wants and fortunately she drinks quite a lot otherwise i would have gone nuts by now!I'd prob take her to GP on Mon if she's not any better. These things always seem to happen on weekends...
