Freshly painted room, ok for children to sleep in?

Painted two youngest's room today and it's dry and all but when I went in to check on them it was smelling strongly of paint.
It's just emulsion and the door is wide open.

Oh I dont think youre supposed to and plus it'll give them a horrible headache. Cant imagine it will do them long lasting harm though but could be wrong?

i wouldn't, tbh. when we painted the boys' room we put them elsewhere for a couple of days and kept the windows open so that it was a bit better

I wouldn't, although the smell doesn't bother me I've woken up to be sick because of paint fumes. If you have another option, I'd use it for a night or two, and open the window all day tomorrow.
