Temperature at night only- why is this?

Recently, when dd has a cold/cough and is generally fairly well, eating etc, she seems to develop a temperature at night only. She is fine during the day but in the middle of the night she gets hot and needs calpol.

Her room/duvet is not too hot, she has had no temparature to speak of in the day so why is it spiking at night.

I have put her to bed on a dose of calpol but am fully expecting her to need more later as she is already feeling warmer than I would like.

Anyone any experience of this?

It's pretty normal I think. Always happens to dd. I think it's because their bodies are working hard while they're asleep to fix them.

I believe it is to do with circadian rythms.it is normal for anyones temp to go up at night...i was told it was to do with the way the body produces its natural steroids at night. And it is also to do with the ingestion of food and its metabolism and normal muscular activity during the day.
