My boy's feet really turn inwards at the toes!!

I wasnt really noticing until my mum told me to put his shoes on the wrong feet to straighten them..

Is this a bit medieval?
is this worth a doctor visit?

You don't need to worry until they're older than about 4 apparently, as before taht it is quite normal. dd (7) is very pigeon-toed and I could not get a hospital referral until she was 5. Even then, they did not actually do anything as consensus seems to be they will either grow out of it by the time they are 13ish or tehy won't..
dd is pretty bad and has a tendency to trip over her won feet when whe is running - I did manage to push for physio which has helped by giving her strengthening excersises - but your wee one is too young yet.
Certainly DON'T put his shoes on teh wrong feet!

I was that pigeon toed child and they put my shoes on the wrong feet and they were never quite right for years. They're OK now though and you wouldn't know now

I had physio from age 4 to try and turn them outwards, even did ballet for a bit (until Madame suggested it wasn't for me - no coordination you see!).

Interestingly dd3 also turned her feet in quite badly. She trips lots, but is slowly getting better. We saw the GP when she was just 4 and they refused to refer until she was 5 at least. In the 10 months she has got a lot better, so we won't be looking for a referral.

7y DD is quite pigeon toed whens he walks and runs. You don't notice it when she is bare foot though, so not too bad I guess. Used to trip over a fair bit as a child, but not sure how much more than other children. Her standing and walking development was normal, infact slightest early.

Has never been investigated, have never thought to do so. I think DD's is hereditary anyway. DH walks the same - he was investigaed as a child but no treatment recommended. FIL is also the same - or rather was, a hip replacement 7 years ago corrected it! Bit of a drastic solution though

My dd (23 mo) has recently been seen by a physio for this so obviously some areas will refer you early. Hers is caused by hyper- flexible hip joints which are twisting her legs incorrectly but there are a number of causes, only a tiny percentage of which require intervention.
