Is it ok for me to keep dd1 home from school for a few days?

Dd1 stayed at home today , she has a cold (runny nose and cough) and looks pale.

I have just found out that 7 children in her class are away today (this is over half of dd's class) most of them with D&V.

I'm ill with a nasty kidney infection so my immune system is low and so is dd1's.

I'm also a Vomit phobic so really worried about dd1 catching the D&V bug.

Dd1 is almost her normal self (apart from a runny nose) so i would normally send her back to school tomorrow but i want to keep her home so she doesn't get the D&v BUG.

She's in class 1 (year 2) so won't be missing anything important.

Is it ok to keep her home for a couple days until her runny nose has cleared up?

YABU sorry - even if puke phobic you are never going to be able to avoid every bug and if you keep your DD off every time she's going to miss an awful lot of school.

I wouldn't keep her off every time there's a bug, i just don't see the point of exposing her to a D&V bug when she already has a cold and i have a kidney infection.

I really couldn't cope with another week of illness, both dd's have been ill on and off since before half term with SF and now colds and i have been unwell for 2 weeks with this infection that is not responding to antibiotics. I have had very little sleep over the past few weeks so would rather not have the dd's coming down with D&V.

I am going to vote that you keep her off. My dd had the d+v thing twice though, so instill the idea of good handwashing. She had it first for four days, went back to school and caught it again. If it is the same one my dd had, she was as sick as a dog but her bowels were really distressing her.
I'd say be prepared for her to come home with it though, you can take precautions but you'll never be 100% shielded from them.
