DS1 had chest infection and throat infection few weeks back, anti b's, got over it. For the last week he has had bit of a cold but a bad cough. He has asthma but is prone to chest infections. Anyway he has just recently started swimming lessons which he loves. DO i let him go this morning? If he has ever had a cold etc, going to the leisure center has always made him worse after. The lessons are in a school pool but as its a junior school would it be any better than a public one??

Haven't you just answered your own question?

mad4myboys · 21/11/2009 08:19

i would think it would more likely be the chlorine in the water.

at teh best of times chlorine makes me wheesy but when i have a cough the chlorine always makes it worse

addictedtomn · 21/11/2009 08:29

sorry ment to add, i'm asthmatic

It's a swimming pool wherever it may be!
Also if he has asthma the chlorine will affect it. Make sure he is better first!

I don't think it makes an awful lot of difference whether the pool is a public one or a school one.

If you don't think he's well enough to go, or if you think he'll feel worse for having been, then don't take him.
