Hi all.

My dd is 4 and half, she has been hospitalised many times with Asthma attacks but not had one for about 18 mths now.

This year we have not had to use her inhalers at all so they've been relegated to the back of the cupboard.

Last couple of days she has coughed non stop, I swear she coughed all night on and off last night, and she's coughing all day too.

She's not bad, looks a bit pale and has dark shadows under her eyes but I guess that's as she's not getting a good nights sleep.

Question is, can I give her the inhalers in the cupboard do you think? Will speak to doc Monday and they're still in date but might relieve her enough to get proper sleep till then.

What do you guys think?

TIA

My two boys have asthma.

Does she use ventolin(blue) when she has an attack?

Give her 4 puffs of ventolin, then 2 puffs of her preventer inhaler and see how she is then.

yes that's it. I think I will, she's cough cough cough now.

thank you.

If they're still in date I can't see a problem.

Just do a couple of puffs into the air to get the propellant working again.

Hope it helps

Last time we were at the GP he said that if they were having an attack, I could give 10 puffs of ventolin to try to control the coughing.
