Can teething cause a 38 temp?

DD is 2.8 and is displaying signs of teething . She is dribbling and chewing, has a temp running but not displaying any other signs of illness. Took her to Paed yesterday who said to keep monitoring could be a virus passing through or the beginning of something.

This morning she is chewing and dribbling; in bed watching peppa pig - I am confused, do teeth come thorough at this age and would they cause a fever in an older child?

No, teething doesn't cause a temperature.

A virus that causes dribbling is hand foot and mouth- very common in children this age - does she have any spots on her bottom, hands or feet, or ulcers in her mouth?

Of course she could have a bit of a virusand be teething at the same time, which would amplify the effects of teething. Molars can come out until age 3.

ah interesting - no symptoms at the moment but maybe it will develop. Thanks for your help
