Seeking advice to help ds2 (7) cope with having a cavity filled.

I am over the initial shock of finding that ds2 has a cavity in a permanent molar.

Rather than dwelling on the fact that I am the world's worst mother, I would like to come up with some helpful advice to help him get through the procedure.

It is an upper tooth.

I am petrified of all things dental thanks to horrible childhood experiences and I would hate to see him follow the same path.

Thanks in advance.

It isn't a scary procedure any more. His experience will be nothing like yours. DD had one a few weeks ago.
Let it go. Don't over prepare him - you will just pass on your anxiety.

Thanks!

That is exactly what I was thinking...

So far, so good because none of the dcs share my anxiety but this is our first 'proper filling'.
