We have a much longed for holiday in majorca booked. we will be going on 27th Aug. Tried to avoid swine flu and worried about ETA bombs and now this! She got her first spot yesterday and has loads now. I know she will not be contageous by the time we fly but dd1 has not had it yet and is not showing any signs of having it at the moment. Wondered if anyone had any advice as to when dd1 will show signs if she has caught it or whether there's a chance she might escape? kids REALLY looking forward to this holiday and we will all be gutted if we can't go We are only going for a week btw

I finally caught it from an ex (who was a teacher), when I was 21. OMG it was awful. Missed my graduation ball because of it!
Hope you still get your holiday...

poor you, paddingtonbear1. That sounds awful. we're now on day 10 from first spot appearing on dd2 and dd1 still symptom free. we're keeping everything crossed now

My brother got chicken pox when I was about 20 but still living at home - and I didn't. I finally got it when ds was 6 (and it was horrible) but dd didn't get it - and she was putting calamine lotion on both our spots!

thank you so much for all the messages of support. I can't believe it, but dd1 is still showing no signs It's all systems go and we're all packed. Flying tomorrow afternoon and I'm finally starting to look forward to it. Here's hoping she stays clear for the duration of the holiday... we're all really excited now

Hi! I was just wondering what happened in the end? I'm in exactly the same situation. My daughter is coming to the end of chicken pox, but my little son has had no sign yet....and we're due to go on holiday on Saturday.....Not sure what to do!
