Sunstroke - what to do?

Please stop me from googling this and tell me what there is to know.

DD and DS had a day at the beach with Granny today. They had hats on (sometimes) and suncream but both are now tired, very hot and listless. Not hungry at all. DD is a bit nauseaus.

I am pumping them full of water. What else do I do?

Do anything to cool them down, eg take off their clothes, put a fan on them, put them in a cold bath, keep plying them with cold drinks.

I think it is often advised that you take them to A&E but I don't know how easy that would be for you, or how bad they actually are.

DD is complainig of being cold. She seems worse than DS

Slightly difficult to go to A&E as we are in Switzerland and I don't speak frnech but will possibly go if they dont improve.

dont want to put them to bed like this

Tepid baths
Drink water (not too much as you don't want to make them ill)
Resting quietly in front of tv or on beds
Paracetamol

That is all you can do (from the guru of heatstroke - ive even been hospitalised!)
If they start to get sick or have headaches are are not drinking are are dehydrated (check skin on back of hand - pinch a bit and if it 'tents' for too long and does not rebound back then a sign of dehydration) then head off to hospital for some iv rehydration.

have put them to bed, both in our bed. temp still higher than normal but no signs of dehydration

Thanks, DG, they are both a lot better. We had a sleepless night so they are a bit tired but we are having a day indoors.
