DD has been to hospital yesterday and her eyesight in her right eye has detriorated, she has to go back in 6 weeks for more tests. She is being ssen for another problem of flashing sensations but this in her left eye and is so far undiagnosed, the optician does not think this is linked. Has anyone had prblems like this and what will they do if her eyesight continues to detriorate?

Hi mummy2pebs, U are probably aware that uveitis is autoimmune (so is JA). Many of these can be related to gluten reaction. I know I would be beside myself as there is a risk of loosing sight. I read extensively on gluten becuase my ds also had rare and severe complications that we resversed by going gluten free. I remember reading that uveitis can also be connected to gluten, but can't remember where. However, here is an outline of published paper, you could maybe contact the author to find out more? I know I would try this in preference to wait-and-see, because of the severity of the problem. Plenty of books on the subject around generally. Good luck.
