My 12 yo daughter had 3 baby teeth removed today. She was given gas/air to help with the fear of the anaesthetic injections of which she had 4. Now.... 7 hours later she is complaining of first numbness in her left side (where 2 teeth were removed) and this thne moved to her arm and hand. She just came and cried about a massive headache too. Can these be related? Or are we talking psycho sympt stuff?

I should mention that the numbness is in her left side which is same side as that on her FACE where the teeth were removed...

I experienced this, with additional numbness in my lips a few years ago after a root canal. At the time the Nhs direct dismissed it as a panic attack (even though i was singing calmly to the radio whilst driving at the time), but since having the same symptoms in early pregnancy was referred to a neurologist who said they were atypical migraines. So i'm interested to hear your daughter also had it after dentistry.. Wondering if the pain relief used could be connected. Perhaps though it was a migraine brought on by stress of the dental work?

I am beginning to think that is what it might be. She is going on holiday abroad tomorrow with friends and is beginning to feel apprehensive.. I have just spoken to the emergency dentist... he has never heard of this happening... Now been advised to take her to A&E. What joy... may just turn out to be her being nervous (I hope).

Oh joy! A few hour in a and e always welcome eh? They will prob want to rule out migraine, elipepsy, mini strokes etc. Am sure/hope she'll be fine. My attacks of which i've had 3, have all happened in stress or hormone related situations. Worth a check but probably a PITA! Hope she's ok and has a nice hol.
