Should I be concerned about dd being so accident prone?

DD has a tendency to fall over, scrape knees & elbows and such, which I generally put down to running one way and looking the other. However it's getting worse and in the last 7 days I had 2 calls from school that she had a bad fall and banged her head - the crown to be precise, I'm baffled how she managed that ... alledgedly she wasn't even running at those occasions.

Could she just be plain clumsy or should have have her checked out for whatever could cause her to fall over so much?

How old is your DD? Is she generally clumsy or just falling over lots? It never ceases to amaze me how often DS (6.5) falls over, stubs toes, etc, etc - and he comes home covered in bruises and doesn't even remember how they happened . A quick straw poll suggests this is fairly standard for his age (or at least not drastically worse than "normal"). So I guess the question is (barring the gymnastics required to hit your head whilst not running, which I agree is impressive) whether your DD falls over a lot more than her peers?

Some kids do just fall over fresh air-usually excaberated by a growth spurt.

Some kids (my own included) need glasses and fall over a lot bcos they cant judge clearly.

Some kids with aspergers find it hard to co-ordinate,concentrate and judge.

depemding on how old your dd is you might wanna get her eyes tested.

btw my examples were very sweeping and vary in extremity - my own 3 have all been like that at some point and after a prescription for glasses all 3 of them made it through.

Ds is so accident prone, he has an entire chapter of his own in the accident book. He is only just 6 and already has scars from falling off a tree and running into one.

As Nickschick said, growth spurts make it much worse until they learn how to coordinate the new length of their limbs.

Has she grown recently? If she has, I would give it a week or so to see if she carries on falling or she grows into herself. If she hasn't, I think I would still leave it a week or so and see if these recent accidents are just a one off. If accidents continue at more than the usual rate for the next few weeks, then I think I would take her to get checked out (in the knowledge that it is probably nothing).

We were at a&e 5 times in 6 weeks with ds3 and cuts to his head-one of these occasions the hairdresser took me with my hair half cut .

OOOOH maybe her feet have grown too - this has happened with one of mine his favourite shoes were tight and he didnt tell me and he had a spate of falling over .

this was one of the first signs of dd's hypermobility syndrome; not only was her joints to lax to hold her steady, but poor proprioception goes with the syndrome

My DS is like this, banged head at least weekly at school, in hospital several times with falls, cuts etc. He has visual issues and I have taken him to DRs etc but they aren't worried. I am a nervous wreck. I hate it when he is invited to people's houses. He is 6.
