SYmptoms seem to be fever that comes and goes, sore throat, and occasional sickness. DS is 4.5 and coping OK with it but yesterday was v hot and lethargic, today still not quite himself.

Must be doing the rounds. Dd has a high temp, sore throat, lethargy etc, so far no vomitting though. Hope they are all better soon...

ProfYaffle · 19/05/2009 10:16

I think my 2 have had this, sore throat, temp and lethargy, sleeping lots. Dd2 was only ill for one day, dd1 2 days, dh and I escaped unscathed.

solidgoldSneezeLikeApig · 19/05/2009 10:43

Yes . DS not well enough for nursery today, so that's a day's pay lost .

My DD had this last week vomiting and high temperature - was only sick one. Ok by day 3. Sent her back to school day 4 and by day 5 had it again. Still off school. This time she has had high temperature for four days and has again only been sick once. Today the temperature has gone at the moment, has started to eat a bit. Hope that is the end of it. It seems a nasty virus - hope you DS doesn't have it too long and is on the road to recovery soon.

Mine had this last week, both were sick just once in the night. DD on Tuesday and DS on Wednesday, they were both better by Thursday.

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 19/05/2009 23:23

Managed to get Dd's temp down at lunch time today. It took another few hours for her bright red cheeks to settle down to normal colour, but by tea time, her temp was back up. Not much food eaten today...thank goodness for extended bfing.

She's also talking in her sleep again as she did yesterday...almost seem delirious

Solid, how is your Ds?

Korma, there does seem to be something going around. One of my friends Ds was ill on Friday/Saturday...

superdanovi · 20/05/2009 11:54

We've been through exactly the same thing as korma with our DS who is 4 months old. The hospital kept him in overnight for observation as his temperature kept rising despite being on Calpol and baby Neurofen. The fact that he HOWLED for three and a half hours in A&E (no... really) also completely freaked them out.
They're pretty sure now that it isn't meningitis (thank god), just a nondescript virus but it really is awful nonetheless as he's completely miserable, clingy, and lethargic. We are now on day 5 and we have definitely turned a corner, but I am told it will be another couple of days before things get back to normal (sigh).

Oh dear, sorry to hear that some people's little DC have been so ill or at least parent-scaring ill, it's so much more scary when they are tiny... DS is much better now, was in nursery today, was in fact mostly better by yesterday afternoon (better enough to demand new shoes FFS) it never got worse than bouts of high temperature, one spell of sickness etc.

That's good news solid. My Dd is also much improved today...still not eating much though.

Just discovered several large ulcers at the back of Dd's pallet...falling into place now. It's the same 'M.O' as the HFM she had last year, though she's only had a couple of spots on her face and upper chest this time and an ulcer on her lip which lasted a day(!)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 22/05/2009 11:47

Out of personal curiosity - were those in hospital swabbed for flu?

SOLOisMeredithGrey · 23/05/2009 00:53

Saw GP today who doesn't think it is HFM, just a virus of some kind.
