Have hopefully got an Expert With Book helping me out on other thread, but wanted to gauge opinion in a wider way too...in case she isn't about this morning.

Photos on profile. It's kind of bumpy and he's had a high temp but now is Ok. Just a bit of a sniffle.

It's much worse on his face than anywhere else, but is all over him.

Started with slightly red cheeks but I couldn't tell it was a rash till it came up on his body.
It doesn't seem to be going away, this is about day 5.

Thanks x

InternationalFlight · 16/05/2009 08:16

But if he's been ill and now only has a sniffle, it's probably a viral rash.

DS gets this everytime he gets a cold or another bug from school.

And everytime I run down the doctors checking he's ok

InternationalFlight · 16/05/2009 08:18

Ah probably then. Does it usually last this long though LO?

That is VERY similar to a rash my DS (3) developed yesterday.
When we went to the doctor, he didn't know what it was, but suggested Slap-cheek virus. This was the only viruss he could think of that mainly kept to the cheek area, although it's not usually spots IYSWIM.

His advise to me was to leave it over the weekend as DS is fine in himself and go back if still spotty on Monday for blood tests (although he said it was probably just a virus - good get ot of jail free card for doctors IMO!)

He still has spots, although not as many this morning so we'll see how it progresses today.

Let me know if you find out any more.

Hope DS is OK

When my DS gets it, he'll have a high temp, runny poos, off food, general sickness, and then a few days later the rash will come out, liks spots over his body or just red patches, and then it'll go after about 5-7 days.

But get it checked out if you're worried.

InternationalFlight · 16/05/2009 08:26

thankyou Lemontea...hope your boy is feeling Ok too.

Yes on further reading lilyMolly might be right. You can have a temp with it and it can be all over.

Perhaps it's just a random viral thing though.

I don't want to take him anywhere he could put anyone at risk. It's raining today, not sure if we'll go out anyway!
