One bug after another - anything I can do?

I have two DSs, 3 and a half and 2, and they have one virus after the next since Christmas. Started with stomach bug, then colds, then stomach bug, then chickenpox. DS1 is sick right now, with another stomach bug. It's his 5th since January. DS2 cought a cold last week which developped into temporary 'asthma' - although he might not have asthma as such.

I'm fed up, I spent the weekend in hopsital with the youngest, and now I'm at home with DS1 who's been sick everywhere. The oldest goes to a 'pre-school' a couple of morning a weeks, and we tend to socialise quite a lot with friends/kids.

I know there's nothing I could have done about the pox, but is there anything I can do about the colds and bugs? To boost their immune system?? I give them normal multivitamins, but anything else you would recommend?

Thanks!!!!!

Yes!!! Probiotics and also maybe vitamins. DD had the same thing until a very helpful mner told me to give probiotics like acidophilus. Our immune system is 'run' by the gut I understand so tummy bugs keep on coming unless you can get a hold of it and help build up resistance. I always give acidophilus for a month after a bug, you can get it in powder form from good health shops and it needs to have been kept in the fridge.

The rest of the time I give Dalivit each day. I have noticed such a difference. DD had 6 rounds of antibs from sept to dec last year for ever recurring tonsilitis. Her gut had been trashed by reflux and she was just getting bug after bug after bug. On Xmas day I posted here and was given advice that turned us round and it is now may and we have had colds but nothing too harsh. (BBF runs off to touch lite of wood)

Hope this helps xx
