Lindam 2 in 1 ear/forehead thermometer...

I just bought this because I thought it would be easier than trying to get the normal thermometer under LO's arm, but the instructions are not very clear and the readings seem to vary a lot.

I have googled but can't find what I am looking for so here we go...

What is normal forehead and ear temp for infants?

Does anyone else have this Lindam thermometer and if so, is it cr@p or am I using it wrong?

Thanks

Hello,

Normal body temp is 37 degreec C. Anything slightly under this is OK and anything over is a fever.

Hi Rsmum. Thanks for the info. Just wasn't sure if forehead reading was cooler or something. His temp read 33.1 then 32.7 then 34.6 after taking it 3 times in about 10 seconds to check the thermometer. Think I have a faulty thermometer...

The ear temp was 36.2 then 36.4 then 35.9 when taking it 3 times in a row...

Maybe I will just go back to good old under the arm for 2 minutes! Think I will have to send the ear thermom back...

Forehead readings are notoriously inaccurate and often records skin temperature not core temperature.

Ear readings are the best way to read a child's temp. You will often get 3 different readings 3 times as each time you do it you might not have it right up against the eardrum.

I have a Braun Thermoscan and it's fab, and really easy to use.
