i'm sure this is normal but dd has a nasty cold with an occasional barking cough - obviously in a little discomfort with her throat. she is really off her milk, though fine with her solids - is this normal and am i doing the right thing just keeping her hydrated with water? thanks! also any advice on filling her up so she sleeps ok tonight if she refuses her milk??!!!

Sadly to drink milk you need to be able to breathe through your nose!

YOu could try nose drops just before a feed?

she can breathe through her nose ok (nose is very runny not blocked up) and drink water fine, that's what I don't understand! In fact she is demanding water!

My ds1 went off milk when he was teething, but seemed ok with his solids. Can you repleace the calicum with yogurts and cheese etc for now? Give it a couple of days and see what happens

yes extra yoghurt for dinner i think! she usually only drinks about 4/5 floz three times a day, but is now refusing totally, and I'm sure it's cold related! I seem to remember reading that illnesses often put babies off their milk - maybe it was tummy bugs though!

Oh dear. Something like this always happens the day before everyone needs to be 'on form' doesn't it?
Hope she gets better soon.

thank you! she's asleep now, so i think i might follow her and at least bank a couple of hours!
