It's my little brother last eyar he had to have a camera down his throat and up his backside (sorry about wording) so they reckon it was Chrohns but for some reason could not be sure.

Last week he went to get checked over again and found that he has not grown at all since January alst year and has lost 12lbs even though he eats like a horse!

Everytime he eats he is sick or has to do the toilet straight after so obviously is getting no nutrients at all from food.

He has to go back for another camera thing again in the next 6 weeks, my mum seems to be quite relaxed about as does my brother but I dont really know much about it all so am getting increasingly worried about him.

Has anyone else gone through this could you explain a bit mor about the disease and what it can do to someone?

I know I probably sound daft but I dont want to ask my mum as there has been an endless list of things going on for her in the last year and the last thing she needs is me quizzing her about this.

Thanks.

this website - NACC might help you

My DH suffered with ulcerative colitis for many years before having his bowel removed.

We do have some friends whose son (now 17) suffers with crohns. It took a long time for it to be diagnosed and he suffered considerably before this with eating and had terrible issues with food. He is probably the size of a typical 12/13 year old, although now he has been diagnosed, he his growing all the time.

Maybe your mum and brother are relaxed about it because they don't know how else to deal with it?

Could be that I guess.

I am the worrier of the family as you can guess LOL

My borther is the size of an average 11YO at the moment so I guess it must be a sort fo characteristic then?

Thanks for the link am just off to have a look.
