DD has caught these from ds. His have now finally gone after 8/9 mths.
She has some on her torso , neck etc.
Last week she had what looked like a small stye in the corner of her eye.
This is now getting bigger and she has a couple more spots around her eyelid.

Could this be molloscum and should i do anything given the close proximity to eyeball ??

Hi lilyloo

DS has had molloscum for about two years it started on his torso and is now on his arms and legs, none on his face though.

as far as I know there is no reason why they couldn't go on the skin around the eyes. We were told to leave them alone or to be careful when squeezing not to get the pus on anything as that is what spreads the virus.

I;d think it would be way too painful to try and squeeze the ones around the eye, as DS didn;t like even the ones on his tum being done! I did it with a hot wash cloth when the got very big and swollen (I did it as I thought they were likely to burst anyway and spread then so better to get rid of them)

Perhaps get your GP to look at them to confirm?

I wouldn't try to squeeze it but it is getting bigger.
Anyone else lo had them like this ?

Hi Lilyloo. My dd has had them for about three years now and they tend to stay around her face. Recently they are around her eyelids right next to her eye. We have to watch that they dont push the eyelashes into the eye as they get bigger but apart from that have just been told to monitor them and to go to GP if the eye seems red or strange in any way. We initially ended up at the GP because she got what appeared to be molluscms around her iris in the eye but they would go within 24 hours. The GP hadnt a clue and referred her to a specialist at the hospital who hadnt a clue and thought it could be molluscm in the eye or chickenpox. But its gone on for ages. Good luck. Its a nuisance isnt it.

Best taking her to docs then.
Luckily although ds had a lot they never appeared on his face.
I am just worrie dif this gets any bigger it will harm her eye in some way.
The others around the eye lid are all small and not very noticeable tbh
Frog did they suggest anything for the ones in the eye ?
