DD1 (3.2) just took a massive spill headfirst into wooden chair!

I have a chair in my room that has a wooden frame with a nice 4 inch band of (imitation) mahogony at ankle height. DD1 was running around upstairs before bed and just tripped and landed headfirst on it. She idnd't even hit the floor, she got stopped completely by the chair.
Her head came up ina small lump, not as big as I would have liked tbh considering the noise
I called NHS as she went hystercial at mention of hospital and we have put her to bed and are goign ton wake her every few hours to check on her.
They were most helpful in telling me what to look out for. I am to call them back if she shows any of the following
irritability
mood swings
overtiredness
unco-ordination
and to not allow excitable play for 3 days.
Hello? She's 3, and a comlpete drama queen!

She kept asking 'does she have blurred vision?'
I mena, how the fuck am I supposed ot tell? As soon as we mentioned dr she announced she was fine and nothing hurt so asking her if she can see was not going to get an honest response.
Poor girl, the noise out of her was awful.

So no-one wants to reassure me then?

remember the front and back of the skul is the thickst part

a lump is a good sign that the inflammation is on the OUTside.

blurred vision...lol no idea

good luck

brimfull · 29/04/2009 20:42

chair sounds vile btw

JackBauerkillspigs · 29/04/2009 20:48

Chair was 'present from DH's aunt (as in 'here is some crap we don't need, you can have it you poor impoverished students setting up home'

Have just woken her, well, I tried and she was having none of it, DH got back just now from shop and tried and we got her walking, albeit extremely pissed off!
Alos tots2ten just called me to reassure so I might put that last worm back

Dh is looking at me like that I keep complaining the lump is too small! It only came out just over a cm.
My poor pfb!

Hope dd1 is better in the morning, Dont forgot if you need anything over night my mobile is on.

JackBauerkillspigs · 30/04/2009 09:05

Thanks t2t, she is fine this morning, a nice neat bruise running down her forehead but no more grumpy than normal
I even managed to bath them both this morning (wasn't goin to attempt it last night!) so they are both happy.
She is still insisting that
'I'm fine, I don't need a doctor, Mummy!'

PFB moment over I think...until next time.
