Chicken pox question...

...DS's 2 and 3 were exposed to chicken pox nearly 4 weeks ago, with DS3 seeing little girl with chicken pox twice after that. It's now 23 days since DS3 last was exposed, which leads me to think he won't get it this time. What do you reckon?

And if he doesn't get it, then why? Seems odd that he was very exposed to it and hasn't had it!

The poor little girl now has an added complication from having chicken pox, can't remember the name, but she has huge hives which are pretty nasty in colour and high temperatures.

the only thing is I know that chicken pox is only contagious from before the spots start to when they have scabbed over, not sure of the incubation period

Ds was exposed to CP at nursery and school regularly, and never got it until the end of his reception year.

Then 23 days after he got it DD and youngest ds came down with it.

some kids just hold out longer, or get a really mild dose you don't notice.

Thanks for that! Hmm don't tell me that there is still a chance, I'd got my head around him not getting it now!

MIL is convinced they had when they were very small....must have missed that then...twice

Incubation period is usually 10-15. I would have thought your chances are pretty good.
