My ds - 16 months has just got a red pimply rash appear on his back. He has no temp and seems to be well.

Just had a nightmare of a week with him and hoping this isn't something else!

hmmm, my son has one of those too today. I am puuting it down to the sun cream I used on him yesterday, could this be case for your ds too? and if you didn't use cream , could it be a bit of sunburn?

No his back wasn't in the sun yesterday, and didn't put any on his back. Where he did have sun lotion - legs arms and face he is fine. Not been in the sun today.

Has two red spots on the top of his leg, which I've assumed are little nips from ants.

You say he's been a nightmare this last week - has he been unwell? I only ask because my girls used to sometimes get a pin-prick kind of rash on their bodies after a virus. The GP always said it was a post-viral rash which would disappear very quickly and it did. It used to flare up after they'd had a few days of fever, but after their temps had gone down.

He had a circumcision last tuesday and there was a problem with it healing and blood tests were done revealing low platelets. I've had a week of worry and returned today for further blood tests and he is now fine. They assume he has has ITP (Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura )as his platelet count has shot up. ITP usually follows a virus, and he was last under the weather a month ago.

I've just got home and spotted this rash.... arh!!!

It could be heat rash, but any real concerns should be checked by the doc.
