5 month old with chicken pox

My 4 year old has just had chicken pox and my 20 week old DD now has it despite being bf. I think I'm overreacting but I'm so worried about her. She is had it for a couple of days, spotty and tired bit otherwise seems ok.

I made the mistake of looking it up on the net and have read a few horror stories of babies of this age dying from it. I took her to the GP and she just said she would be fine. Any advice welcome, very worried

She will be fine if already spotty & OK.

My DD got this at 5, and DS was only a few months old. He had eczemza on his stomach and an ear infection at the time DD caught it, so he went down hard with infected spots - but we knew as soon as the spots started that something more was up. Even so, he made a full recovery with no more after effects than a few spot scars that also eventually went.

The GP said we were really unlucky as most tinies just get it very mildly and recover much faster than older siblings who can scratch etc.

my ds2 (also breastfed) got it from his brother at 4 months. like milliways ds he was suffering from eczema as well so he caught it. he had a very bad case of cp (whilst ds1 only had

my son has it now........ absolutely pickled. he is 16 months. he is very clinggy, and covered all in his head, few on the face, all over back, front and even his man-bits.......

Any miricle helps out there???

we are keeping off calpol, but have it at the ready, and we have been given piriton syrup to take orally by the chemist, he says it is better than the creams.

If you are breastfeeding, keep on, your immunities will help the little one get over it quicker and with less affect to them.

my little one had it badly at 12 weeks!
high fever
literally covered in spots
hes a very happy healthy 2 yr old now

rachee, what helped relieve the itchiness in ds2 was to give him a bath with a sock filled with oates in the water. this releases a milky white cream into the water which in our case helped against the itchy spots better than calamine lotion.
we gave him piriton as well.
