Are 2 yrs olds allowed to use electric toothbrushes?

My DD, two and a half, loves watching me clean my teeth, and does hers at the same time. I've just got an electric toothbrush...and of course she wants to use it too. But I'm concerned it may be too powerful for her gums and tiny teeth. On the other hand, it probably cleans better that her usual tooth-brush-chewing session! Anyone?
Or general hints on better cleaning?
Thanks!

My LO has a Colgate fire engine electric one - not sure when he started using them but its been ages

LOL at 'allowed'!!! Buy an age appropriate one.

Our dentist told us that it is better to teach them how to brush their teeth manually first. Now that dd is 9 and has many of her permanent teeth she has an electric one, but still seems to prefer to use the manual.

Thanks everyone! She does use a manual brush - but prefers the novelty and whizzing of the electric one.
I'll have to look in Boots and see what they've got for small children.
