DS 2 off milk!

Anyone have any advice to give on DS who is 2 and gone off his milk? He was drinking it from a bottle & has been off it completely for about 10 days now. I've tried different cups, he still refuses. The little bit of milk he has in his cereal is not enough for his daily requirements. I'm quite worried and don't know what to do?!?

dont keep trying to offer it to him just give yoghurts, cheese etc

Just offer other Calcium rich foods. He will be fine.

Littlest Manky has never liked milk, and has never had a drink of milk since he self weaned off the breast at 22 months.

He has a load of milk in warm oatibix or cereal, lots of yoghurt, loves cheese, and likes leafy green veg.

I used to stress about it as the other two drink milk by the gallon, but he is fine and growing like a weed. Infact he is the tallest and chunkiest child at this age that I have had! He is now 3 1/2.

they only need the equivalent of 350mls at this age so you can make that up with milk in cereal, youghurt, cheese, custard, ice cream and any other non-dairy sources of calcium.

Another one here whose DDs refused milk altogether and never drank it again once they'd given up BF. They survived and are tall and strong.

Don't worry, it's just one food item and non-essential so long as he is getting a good diet otherwise - unless you're a baby cow of course Remember some people/children have to go dairy-free as it's a common cause of allergies.

Thanks for the advice peeps. He's not a big cheese eater Tried the flavoured milk and he's still not having it! Even referred to it as "Tombleeboo Juice" and nothing! Am wondering if I should stop offering it for a few days then try again or carry on being persistent consistent?

my 15 month old has also started to refuse milk from a bottle - I tried a sippy cup last night and this also didn't work.

Today he has had a little milk on cereal, cheese on toast and two yoghurts. I guess he will have a milk pudding later and I could give some pasta with spinach and cheese....Is this enough calcium? Don't mean to hijack your thread Orangutan it's just I could have written it Just wondering what the other calcium rich foods are too

hI Ilovespinach
My DS just started his milk again this weekend, just asked for it!! After trying millions of different cups & flavoured milks!

But did some research and kids should have 3 portions of calcium a day:
125ml milk = 1 portion
1 pot of yoghurt = 1 portion
1 tablespoon grated cheese = 1 portion

Calcium rich foods:
sesame seeds
dark leaf greens
dried figs
seaweed
quinoa
amaranth
soy foods
