OH no! I would imagine she would be ok - surely they have to have these things in mind when making? Hope she is ok...

flossie64 · 13/04/2009 18:32

We had a little boy in A and E with EXACTLY same thing the other week. He was fine if that helps calm you down.

My little sister ate one of those tablets for descaling kettles once. She was quite drooly too afterwards! That was a poisons unit job too but she was fine. At least this was diluted - that's got to be a good thing. hope you get news soon.

bellavitalikesthesimnellife · 13/04/2009 18:38

Hope DD is ok Lacka

poshtottie · 13/04/2009 18:59

my nephew ate some face cream last week, my sister was advised to go to A and E. She stayed for six hours then was told she could take him home.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2009 19:03

dh has taken her down. ihave DS1 and 2 here and bfing ds2 so made sense for dh to go. feel like shit though and no doubt time will drag till he calls.

guys said she may need monitoring to rule out a gas embolism. I'm not googling it. they felt given the dilution and the fact it had been sitting for a couple of hours means it's only a small risk.....still a worry

this is the fourth time i've called nhs direct about her swallowing things

in the 18months since she has been mobile she has munched her way through some silica gel, holly berries, sudocrem and now this

waitingforgodot · 13/04/2009 19:08

hope all is well. Please keep us posted.

candyfluff · 13/04/2009 19:12

hope all is ok
let us know

Northernlurker · 13/04/2009 20:17

Daisy - if it's any comfort I would never have thought to keep my children away from any of the things you've listed. Some children are just into eating stuff, you've done nothing wrong. I'm sure she will grow out of it and suffer no harm.

LadyOfWaffle · 13/04/2009 21:03

Any news?

LackaDAISYcal · 13/04/2009 21:04

thank NL She does put everything in her mouth still (she's not quite, but nearly two) where DS1 never did anything like that.

she also eats the halos'n'horns berry shampoo, proclaiming "Mmmmmm, tasty"

Anyway, DH just called. she is fine ; teararsing around A&E and being a horror . Obs are fine, waiting on poison report (whatever that is) and they are keeping her in until 10 for observation.

I will be getting rid of the wee wooden chair I use to reach the high cupboards as she drags it round everywhere to reach things she shouldn't!

and DS1, nearly seven, is sleeping on her floor tonight; mainly so the baby can have a room to himself in a "please let the little bugger sleep through" experiment before we start reshuffling bedrooms so he has appointed himself chief watcher for the night, bless him
