hi all.
Im sorry if this doesnt sound very trivia, but i wanted your valuable advice please!!!
my 10 month old little boy got his first tooth about a month ago(hes got 2 1/2 now)
Around the same time he was violently sick and had diahorea, went on for a week, so we took him to the docs, who dismissed it as teething. we wasnt happy with this, as he had lost a drastic amount of weight, so we went to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with tonsilitus, and i stomach bug. got antibiotics, and thankfully it cleared up within a few days. he started eating better, but on bit of weight, and cut another tooth.
that was about 3 weeks ago, and now hes started being sick again. my husband says not to worry as its teething again, but i cant help wondering if this amount of illness in such a short time is normal??
any help or advice would be great. thanks x

Oh, your poor DS and poor you. It's really horrible when they're ill. Teething does do weird stuff to their systems- but if you're worried then go to your GP to get him checked out.

The key things are; how often is he being sick? Can he keep fluid down? Is he still having wet nappies? You cn always phone NHS direct for advice, they're really good and will talk you through all the symptoms and what you can do to help.

You might just be unlucky with the ilnesses, they do sometimes get a run of things then nothing again for ages. It's building up his immune system so don't he'll be stronger for it. Doesn't mean you can't get help though, if you think he needs it.

not sure. my ds got 8 teeth before the age of one and didn't have any teething signs or probs other than a bit of crying on one or two nights.

i would go back to gp. could be something like rotavirus though which doesn't need antibiotics

Just reread my message- SORRY for all my typos. I've had a long day.

thanks for messages. ended up taking him down a walk in centre on saturday, gave him the once over and said there wasnt much they could do as he'd only just has antibiotics from last lot, so sit tight and ride it out! oh the joyds of being a parent eh! x
