Chickenpox - secondary rash

Ds (2) has chickenpox. The first spot appeared nine days ago and he went on to develop LOADS of them all over his body and face. He wasn't too unwell with it, just a bit hot and bothered for a couple of days.
The spots have now all turned to scabs and he is fine in himself - completely full of beans as usual!
This morning however, me and DH noticed a secondary rash which has just appeared over his right shoulder and arm - lots of smal pinkish/reddish dots that don't look like chickenpox blisters or scabs (it actually looks more like I would imagine measles to look). It does not seem to itch or be bothering him.
Any ideas on what it could be, or is this just normal with chickenpox? Should we take him to the walk-in centre? (have not done so already because as I say he is completely fine in himself).
Many thanks!

Do the spots disappear when pressed under a glass, or something clear?

Yes they do, and he is still fine with no temp... just the rash!

OK that's good that they disappear. A few children can get ITP after an illness that has a non-blanching rash.

I'm not sure what that secondary rash is that your DS has, but it doesn't sound like anything normally associated with chickenpox. If he's fine in himself then perhaps just keep an eye on it for the moment. If it becomes clearly uncomfortable for him, or starts to spread, then might be a good idea to take him to see a GP.

Thanks Musukebba - that is what I'll do!
