she had her pre school booster yesterday and she is screaming in pain when you straighten her arm. Is this right? I dont think it should be hurting her this much, am worried and not really sure what to do.

Nothing else, just her arm, and only one arm even though she had injections in both.

good grief. That is two triple vaccinations and one single - so seven in one go!
take her to the Doctor

KristinaM · 26/03/2009 08:54

thesockmonsterofdoom · 26/03/2009 13:09

It wasnt swollen or anyhting, just sore, i talked to a nurse at school instead, she had a look at it and told me it is OK and what to look for, problem is dd can be a bit of a drama queen so I am never quite sure how bad things are. She pulled a sicky on me last week now i feel really guilty.

My arm always gets very sore/stiff when I have injections. I always thought it was a normal reaction.

AndISayHey · 26/03/2009 15:07

Same here christywhisty, I remember tetanus being particularly bad.

christywhisty · 26/03/2009 18:15

yes,definitely tetanus the worse

NoNickname · 26/03/2009 18:19

Ds couldn't walk for two or three days once after an injection, so I sympathise totally. I think the jab must just have gone into the muscle too much and damaged it too much for him to walk without pain. He literally was unable to walk - well, unable in the sense that he couldn't because it was so painful.

izyboy · 26/03/2009 20:10

Well vaccinations can make the muscle sore.

AndISayHey · 27/03/2009 19:17

How is she today? If it's still really painful it might be a good idea to get her seen to make sure there's no nerve damage (although that is very rare).
