What food do you give a child likely to be sick again?

DD1 managed to throw up some chicken korma (nice) last night, and then the crackers and milk came up.
Any suggestions for what we can try her on today, given that she may well be sick again!

Bananas
Rice (plain)
Apples
Toast

No fatty stuff or dairy basically. Dry cheerios or similar are always popular here.

I thought BRAT was for the runs? Which is what DD2 has! They appear to be sharing the D and V between them....

I can do cheerios (well, not nestle own brand anyway)

I thought the principle was the same.

Yes, technically we use Tesco's multigrain hoops (which I suspect are still nestle). They seem to do the trick of giving an energy boost with the sugar and being fairly bland.

And there's the added bonus of being completely dry so they don't make too much mess if they get thrown up again.

She is still in bed with DH, I have DD2 down here who has had bananas. toast adn cheerios for brek, so DD1 can have a bit of the same.

I think it calls for a PJ day today!

thanks

Crikey bananas are the very last thing I would want if I felt sick.

SkintColditz · 23/03/2009 08:19

Dry cheerios
Toast

JackBauer · 23/03/2009 08:20

I give whatever they ask for, I figure the body has a good idea of what it needs, but jsut tell them to eat slowly.

ButtercupWafflehead · 23/03/2009 08:28

Nothing red or orange!

(think of the stains)

JackBauer · 23/03/2009 08:36

mashed banana is good it is postassium and magnesium rich and easily digested, so good if you there is D and V

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/03/2009 13:51

agree with brat

i always give banans and dry toast

loggedout · 23/03/2009 14:00

The flat coke is like an electrolyte in that is has sugar and salt?

JackBauer · 23/03/2009 18:14

dry toast, cheerios, bananas and flat lemonade (no coke!) seem to have worked.
Had always thought brat was for runs but happy to be proved wrong.
