Dunno but foot things hurt for ages in adults so maybe she has bashed it and it's just aching still.
Or unlikely and I am guessing you have had a look, could she have a cracked bit of skin? That hurts like billyoh.

How old?

Have you been to your GP?

BettySwollux · 21/03/2009 13:12

DS1 had heel spurs, where iirc, the heel bone grows a very slight point or nobbly bit that digs into the fatty padding on the heel.
Is the pain all the time or just when shes standing/walking?
DS1 grew out of it, apparently its quite common.
Have you tried gel/memory foam inserts in shoes?

chloesmumtoo · 21/03/2009 13:26

Ah yes Bettyswollux. My ds has various problems with his feet due to having flexible flat feet. Suffered numerous other problems with knees and also his heels. His physio said it was to do with growing and it would go away. She supplied the gel thingies too. He is now 12

Just found the leaflet she gave. Called severs disease lol. It says it is a common condition common in sporty and physically active children. High levels of physical activity may aggravate the symptoms. Between the ages of eight and thirteen years a childs bones often grow at a different rate than their tendons causing a shortening of the heel cord compared to the leg bones. The tight heel tendon may put too much tension on the back of the heel where they attach. this can injure that part of the heel which is still an imature mixture of bone and growing cartilage. Over use causes injury and inflammation at the heel.
symtoms : Typically between 8 and 13 Years. Complaining of pain in one or both heels during running and walking. The pain is felt at the point of the heel where the achilles tendon attaches to the heel bone and this area is tender to deep pressure. Walking on toes relieves the pain. It goes on to say excercises to help and reasuring that is is only to do with an immature part of the skeleton. How it is self limiting and will go away when the childs heel bone is completely grown. Even if your child is suffering pain it says he/she can still take part in sport as long as they can tolerate it and there is no long term problems linked to the disease.

Ask in your doctors surgery about it or to see a physiotherapist

edam · 21/03/2009 23:04

Try your GP - you may have seen a junior doc at the hospital who isn't as experienced as a good GP or as knowledgeable about minor conditions (i.e. those which are not normally dealt with in hospital, not necessarily minor to the patient).

well she's found herself a "support" bandage thing...in one of my drawers apparently.i've let her wear it for the last couple of days and take it off at night.says it's helping.just not sure whether i should be doing it or not.
