Sorry for starting another thread a few days later!

Ds2 is 21mo and has been ill since saturday - he was grizzly all day, then sick in the evening and again all night. He stopped late on Sunday but had a temperature of about 38+.

That went away on Monday night/tuesday morning only to be replaced by the vomming again. He's now onto his fifth day and is still throwing up

His big brother just had two and a half days of sickness, and is going back to school today fine.

I guess I'm asking if it is ever going to stop! And does he need to be seen, or is it safe to let it run its course?

I'm not sure if he is teething as well.
Thankyou

When my youngest was sick for 24 hours at 18 months we took her to the GP who sent us to the hospital in case she was de-hydrated. We had to feed her dioralite (sp) at a rate of 5mls every 5 minutes, a bit like being on a drip. They said her stomach was not able to take any more fluids than that or she would be sick again but we had to keep her hydrated. It was hard going, especially as she wouldn't take the liquids herself and we had to squirt it in with a syringe!

Oh that sounds awful
He isn't that bad now, just drinking lots of bmilk and throwing up maybe 5 times a day...very tired and crochetty though.

I hope it will stop soon. I have no towels or blankets left, he refuses to aim, you know how it is

My sympathies, DD2 was like this for a while too and I'm convinced that she does it every time she's teething. As long as he's taking fluids thats good but it might be worth taking him to the GP to be on the safe side. Is it worth considering giving him juice instead of milk? When DD2 is like this, it seems harder on her to throw up the milk (sorry if tmi) and also milk tends to smell more and be harder to wash out.

Hope he improves soon xx

Thankyou, he's never really been sick before, but maybe this is where it all starts!! My other one was always sick from the word go, this one isn't used to it so he tries to swallow it again poor thing..

It might be teething though as one cheek is red. Juice is a very good idea, I am finding milk hard to shift from blankets (yuk)

Thanks so much x

My ds is like this at the moment and he's teething. He's sick once or twice a day and his temp appears normal.
He also seems to be extra sensitive to dairy (he has an allergy anyway but wasn't this sensitive before).
He's been sick even when he's had no dairy. I'm hoping its all down to teething.

if it is a bug milk/ dairy are supposed to be the worst things to give,

Thankyou, yes I am not sure what to hope for - it's going round ds1's class, but is lasting much longer with ds2 so maybe it is his toothy.

Nancy I think breastmilk meant to be Ok, not giving him cows milk at all x
