She was eating ice cream for pudding after eating her dinner well. She has been fine all day, no health issues (she is 2.8, communicates well).

As she was eating, she cried out in pain and said her neck was sore, was rubbing the back of her neck (just below the hair line) she said she had ice cream in it. She then wimpered for a few minutes, then carried on with the ice cream.

Then she became a bit upset and asked DH for a cuddle, said she did not want any more ice cream as it was making her neck sore, and started rubbing the back of her back again.

No more ice cream, now she is snuggled ready for bed and watching Totoro. She cried out to me, and said her neck was sore, worried look on her face, rubbing the back of her neck, said that the ice cream had made it sore.

Then she pointed into her mouth and said 'no, neck is sore in there'. No fever, no other sign of illness.

Any ideas what she means? Sore throat? Headache?

Ice cream headache
One of mine used to cry with ice cream. You know sometimes it can make me have a pain in the front of my head-temples.
