mad4 you are still having such a rough time, I'm sorry.

I have heard of this, but I thought it was just a term for reflux where the stomach acid reaches up to the throat? I had it when I was pg, quite badly, due to a hiatus hernia - and was treated with Omeprazole (which I know your ds can't tolerate).

I really hope things improve soon for your ds, and for you.

hi elibean. its been hell. saw an ent specialist who gave some steroid nose drops to reduce the lining of nasal passages and that we'd notice a diff in few days and then he'd been fine in a month. naturally this isnt the case.

i have googled the above and sounds more like the 'normal' silent reflux, i mean dueto his cough/wheeze/nose thing that isgoing on aswell

I guess, in such a small little being, stomach acid would reach right back up as far as throat/nose/mouth

Poor lad, I can say from experience it is no fun having that.

I can imagine steroid nose spray wouldn't make any difference at all to reflux affecting his breathing - nor to anything much, unless his nasal passages are actually inflamed??

I wish I had a magic wand for you....

Dont be mislead by false hopes assiciated with miracle medical drugs eg. PPI's and cover up spreys etc.. 6 months ago I was suffering so badly from LPR I was near suicide. Now six months later I am symptom free, and I eat absolutely anything I want. The only cure is the following: Exercise, Lose Weight, and Get in Shape. Even the makers of the drug Nexium admit this. I know this is not what you want to hear, but it is the God's honest truth. It will take six months and progress will be very gradual, but this is the only real answer for you. Treating LPR any other way is a lifelong nightmare. Left untreated LPR is a terminal illness.
