Is this a reaction to MMR? Should I be worried?

Hi. Not overly worried but thought I would ask on here incase I should be!

DD had MMR 9days ago. She didn't sleep well yesterday daytime which isn't too unusual but she is usually in bed by 7pm and didn't sleep AT ALL untill 2am!! She then woke up at 7am her usual time and hasn't slept today except about 20 mins in the car.

She hasn't eaten since yesterday at about 5pm - this is my main concern. She has had a little milk but not an awful lot, definatly less than usual. And she isn't interested in water either?

She has had a slight temperature for about 24 hours but it has gone down with calpol.

Is this all normal? How long is she ok not to eat for before I need to get worried?

I'm not mdically trained or anything, but think that's fine. I wouldn't worry at all about not eating for a day or 2, it won't hurt her. If she is at least of average weight and there aren't normally any concerns, it's fine. Ds never eats if he's teething, and with the first few teeth, he didn't eat anything for days.
If her temp stays high and you still need to treat it after 48 hours, I'd get her checked over then, but other than that, I wouldn't worry.

My DS was sick 8 days after his MMR - he wasn't well at all, but it passed well within 48 hours. I had to pick him up from nursery because he had been sick and had a temerature - it came on him so fast, he was fine when I took him, and the nursery staff said he had been playing fine just before he was ill. The morning after he started to get better and by the following evening he was fine again.

Hope she is better soon.

she is below average weight for her age - always has been.

She doesn't eat when she is teething either but she makes up for it with milk so she still gets the caleries.

She also threw up this morning - forgot to put that bit in.

If she is below average on the weight, I might get her checked over after 2 days. Since weaning, ds went right off milk so he didn't have any when he wouldn't eat a meal.
Maybe call hv in morning, see what she says about it? Or if you are worried, which is sounds like you are, follow that gut intinct and make a gp appointment

I agree, See how she is in the morning, and if no change ring someone to check her over - its probably nothing to worry about, but it won't hurt to have her checked over if it will put your mind at rest.

I won't bother doing anything tonight then. To be honest, I am in agony myself so haven't really had time to worry about her much and she hasn't wanted to do anything besides watch tv anyway. I meant to say she is 14 months.

sorry, I was thinking of the preschool jabs that my son had - they were what made him ill - can't remember about the MMR, but think he must have been fine if I can't remember. She may just have picked up a bug that has nothing to do with the MMR - but see how she is in the morning and make a decision then - obviously if she gets worse through the night, give GP out of hours a call.
Hope he gets better soon - they make us worry don't they - hope you feel better soon too.

I have just bathed her and tried to put her to bed but yet again she won't sleep. .

I am wondering if she has a tummy ache where she hasn't eaten anything and that is what is making her not want to eat? I know if I don't eat then I get a stomach ache and it is a circle but at least an adult can realise that they need to eat to stop it! She won't drink her milk, which usually helps get her off to sleep.

It has come at the wrong time. I am in agony with both a bad back and toothache and have got millions of things I need to do and I am 8 months pregnant so this is the last thing I need TBH. But she comes first..

Hi, Just thought I would pop back and see how she is today - any better?
also, hope you are feeling better too.

She is still pretty much the same but is eating small amounts of food so not really worried.
