Over 95 she said? DD has beein ill for about 4 weeks- tired, run down, losing weight, lack of appetite, losing her hair, pale.

Recent blood tests have ruled out anaemia, leukaemia and glandular fever. They are doing more tests on her.

I'm really worried about her and I hope its only a viral thing. Does anyone have any knowledge of this. What could it be?

bump again - can amyone help this poster???

morningsun · 07/03/2009 14:05

maybe an inflammatory disorder such as crohns disease?

None of us can really advise about htis on here.
We can't see the whole picture.

It's a pain it is the weekend, I'm sure the docs are doing everything they can.

Don't google and panic and look arond on the web, unless you know what you are looking for- you probably won't get helpful answres.

Maybe you can help your friend by going with her and making notes when she next meets the docs and then can help her rememebr what has been said and work out what she needs to ask next.

Specifilaly, high white cell count can be alot of different things and they jsut need to work their way through the tests to clarify what the problem is.

Biiig sympathy fr you and your friend and ehr dd, it must be very worrying

I agree with oopsagain.

It might be simple. It might be complex. We cannot tell. I had a very raised count at that age and it took a long time to diagnose what was wrong. I had the same symptoms as your friend's dd too. They are very general symptoms unfortunately and point to hundreds of possibilities.

Be there to hold her hand and listen. They will find something if there's something to find.

It's frustrating and worrying but they will do this as quickly as they can.

Thankyou everyone for your replies and divedaisy for bumping. it's really worrying for all concerned but like you say the symptoms are so general I gues the best I can do is to be there for her and give her my support. Thanks again.
