dd has just been copiously sick - nice! Due to visit park tomorrow - we should stay away I guess but if dd right as rain I will be tempted to go. I hate it when people send children to nursery before they are ready (48 hours rule)(although I know why it happens and how hard it is with work -not judging , promise) but is it different going to an open space? Gut feeling is to stay away but would value opinions. Also - any point trying to keep her away from her brother (four months) or is it shutting stable door if germs are in the house?
Also - how to get rid of the smell.
DD asleep poor soul

Once he's been sick the virus is air borne so you're probably all stuffed - sorry. That said if one of my ds's is sick I do make sure they don't share cups, food, towels etc just to give the other a fighting chance.

As for the park - I think an open space is totally different. Its unlikely that other children will be sucking the swings, licking the slide etc so spread of germs should be minimal, plus if its a local bug going round the other kids would already be being exposed to it somewhere, plus if the other parents wanted a bacteria free, hygenice experience the local park isn't really the place to go is it.

And it will give u a break from the acrid stench of puke.

I wouldn't go with friends, but I would go on our own - no close contact with other kids

Glad to hear honest opinions - thanks! Pretty much confirms what I thought, Might go for country walk in deserted area but I can't bear inflicting germs on people. You just never know the situation - I caught a bug when 34 wks pg with broken ankle when on zimmer - imagine hopping to loo and I missed fracture clinic etc I know it's not always that extreme but struggled to be jolly when friend said "oh yes dd threw up this morning" after they'd come into our house for a cuppa. But flip side is I'd rather get a bug than have anyone go completely mad and I know how you just have to get out sometimes! Every cloud...my sis was due to come for weekend and has now declined so don't have to tidy - three extra loads of washing blah blah sorry will stop now!

I would keep away from other people tbh - you never know what could be a problem for someone else. I remember taking dd when almost recovered from chickenpox out to a very open space. I chatted to someone I knew and when she heard that dd had had cp she visibly recoiled, saying 'keep her away from me, I am having chemo!!'

I think dd was far from being contagious at this point, but I felt awful to have upset her like this.
