dd is 3 and is non verbal. She has been drooling more than usual, but she dribbles a lot anyway because of her low muscle tone. She has also been sticking her finges in her mouth a lot recently.Could it still be teething?Obviously I brush her teth x2 daily but it is difficult to get her to open her mouth REALLY wide to peek in.Any answers anyone?TIA

Yep, my niece is 3.3 and still missing a few.

I'd ask the dentist at her next checkup. I thought my ds was teething when he was 2 (high temp, drooling etc) but the dentist worked out that he would have had all his teeth by about 21 months. Was a bit embarrased as for months I'd put any out of sorts illness down to teething!

totaly possible to still be teething at 3. dd1 is 3 next month and still has her last 2 back top molars ("2yr molars") to come through. as per dentist visit last week it's not unheard of.

MollieO · 24/02/2009 21:26

My dentist is private but does children on NHS. She suggested starting check ups from 2. Would assume you'd be entitled to a check up if your dd is registered with a dentist. No problem registering my ds on NHS and got check up booked at the same time.

how many teeth does she have? Have her back molars come through yet?

here is a link to a chart of children's teeth - the second molars are marked on here as coming between 25 and 33 months but DS1 is nearly 3 and shows no signs of them yet...

Sorry, think you misunderstood. If she is registered then that is good and you should be able to get her an appointment. My ds is registered at the NHS part of the practice and we didn't have to wait long for an appointment. Would have been almost immediate but needed to fit around my daytime availability.
