DD fell and now bottom front three teeth are loose

I am really upset right now and hoping someone can give me some information. My DD (28 months) fell tonight and knocked her three lower front teeth. There was blood, not a huge amount, but not a small amount. Her teeth feel slightly loose now. Only slightly. But I am very worried. She was upset, rightly so, for the first 30 minutes, but seems okay now - even giggling and running around. But she's about to go to bed and I'm worried she will mess with them during the night and make it worse.

From reading up on the internet, it seems that they may heal or tighten back up. But there is also the possibility they will discolor or at worst get infected and require extraction. I'm also worried that she might pull them in the night and they might come loose and choke her. i know, unlikely, but my mind is racing right now.

I've given her Calpol and only fed her soft stuff for dinner (she ate well). Any similar experiences.

Should I take her to the dentist? She's never been and her teeth were perfect before this

Thanks so much

oh good news

am sure they won't be discoloured and worse case - at least they are baby teeth and will fall out naturally. and bottom doesn't show nearly as much as top teeth.

that was supposed to be comforting, by the way, not negative

Hi

Just another update. It's been almost two weeks since my daughter fell. One tooth seems wobbly still, but the others seemed to have firmed up. I've been looking at them every day to ensure no sign of infection. So far so good.

Also, they haven't discoloured yet. For those of you whose LO's teeth did discolour, how long did it take? I think my dentist said it could happen weeks or months after the accident.

dd knocked out a front tooth completely when she was 4 which I pushed back in and it stayed! It discoloured, but is now back to normal, and she's able to bite hard foods too.
Ds also knocked out a front one at 3 (starts to look like carelessness!) and his grownup teeth came in fine and straight.

Saintmaybe - I know this thing is pretty common among kiddies. How long did it take for you LO's tooth to discolour?

It went pretty black after a week or two. Then got worse for maybe another couple of weeks, then started to get better. Back to normal after maybe another month, as far as I remember.
Maybe your dd's won't? Hope not.

Ds fell against a wall whilst chasing Granddad (makes me cringe thinking of it). He was about 2.10. There was LOADS of blood but mainly I think because he bit his lip in the process. One tooth was pushed back slightly and it went grey in the days following. The dentist said it was fine and may go black at worst. It seems to be only slightly discoloured now (it happened 4 months ago), you wouldn't notice it if you didn't know.

I hate watching him run - he can trip over nothing!

Hi
I know this was years ago now. But just wondering what the outcome was? My daughter bumped her front teeth off my sons head. The bled a tiny bit but are slightly wobbly.
thanks
