DD2-4yrs sore bits

She mentioned sore bits [fanjo] earlier today and I thought a bath would sort it out. However we had dinner late and she didn't have a bath.
She has just woken up crying with it now. Could be the frequent wet knickers. Wiping hasn't helped. Sudocream hasn't helped. Savlon and Nurofen syrup have stopped the crying but now she is wriggling about and saying it is still sore. I wonder if she could have thrush. Can they develop an imbalance in flora by fiddling with dirty fingers and wearing wet knickers?
Can I put some canestan cream on her?
Should she go to doctor even if she feels better later/after a bath?

DD gets like when she has accidents. any sort of wet knickers reults in sore bits. red and stingy. we use bepanthen nappy cream (only cos its all i had when sudocream didn't work!) she siad that it didn't make it sting and cooled it down.
doesn't sound like thrush, def try washing and using diff nappy creams but if no respite see docs.

When DD had sore bits, it turned out to be worms, which I only found out on the second visit to the GPs (first was doctor who thought it was to do with wiping etc, second was a nurse who actually looked).

Why is she having frequent wet knickers? Is that normal for her? If not it could be cystitis.

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/02/2009 21:50

She holds on too long and then rushes to the loo and dribbles a bit before she gets on there.
Wondered about worms because there is a fair bit of fiddling she does down there.
TBH the soreness she has had connected with wet knickers is usually sorted with sudocream which is why I am a bit mystified.

My dd's had sore bits before. GP told me to stop putting bubble bath in her bath and prescribed some Canesten. There's something in bubble bath which can inflame them apparently.

Check for worms

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/02/2009 21:59

Well after tonights close inspection can't say I saw any sign of worms. Beyond them being there are there any other signs?

Sorry to post and run there

little girls can complain of front bums being sore when they have worms, and will wriggle about with the itch/pain

Need to get ovex from chemist or vernox on prescription and take a spoonful, everyone and wash her bum everymorn and hands

It won't do any harm, and give her bed covers a wash
I keep a bottle in just incase

FlyMeToDunoon · 18/02/2009 22:08

Ok
Wriggling has stopped for the moment so am hoping to get to bed soon.
